The nightmare continues in Rafah as the Israeli military inexplicably bombs displaced families, killing dozens more people this week as they huddled, terrified, in their tents.
With fundraising events underway all over Cork, on Monday, June 3rd, a rural flower farm is rowing in with its own event, with all proceeds going directly to young mother Zahra Hafeez, who is trapped in the war zone and desperately trying to help her ten family members, including her one-year-old daughter, to escape.
From 2pm until 4pm on bank holiday Monday, Howe Hill Flowers owner Flicky Howe will be hosting a plant sale at her farm gate (map here). Parking in the area is tight so it’s best to carpool if you can and payments on the day will be cash or Revolut to keep things running smoothly.
“The money is going directly to Zahra, she has a Go Get Funding campaign but loses almost 10 per cent on each donation that way through hosting and PayPal so we’re going to Revolut everything directly to her,” explained Flicky.
“If you can, park at the beach road and walk up the hill. Bring a box! If you have excess plants to donate to the sale please contact me on 087 937 6148.”
If you can’t make it on the day and you’d like to send money to Zahra Hafeez directly, you can find her GoGetFunding campaign here.
